COURTNEY ANN OPPELT

COURTNEY ANN OPPELT

Our beloved Courtney Ann Oppelt, 34, of Tomah, earned her wings while surrounded by her siblings and cousin Saturday, April 20, at UW-Health University Hospital after courageously undergoing her second open heart surgery. She was the precious daughter of Julie and Mark Oppelt; much loved sister to Mark (Lindsey) Oppelt, Ashley (Jeff Eggebakken) Oppelt, Travis (Kayla) Oppelt, Tammie (Steve) Kniess and Maria (Greg) Corazala; an adored aunt to McKinley, Elias, Alivia, Emma and Andrea Oppelt and Carson, Adia, Callum, Eugene and Gibson Corazala; as well as a cherished niece, cousin and friend to many. Her quirky personality, unique style and big heart made her stand out, yet she was quiet and happy living a simple life with those she loved.

Courtney was born Dec. 20, 1989, in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from Antigo High School in 2008, she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English education from UW-Green Bay. Traveling solo or with family and friends, reading books, watching movies, listening to music and singing were favorites of Courtney’s; however, her two darling dogs, Don Juan and Gus, were her world and she considered them her children. Her Aunt Ann and Uncle Jesse Ceballos were also very important to Courtney since they were like parents to her as well.

While we are mourning her passing from this earth, she was happily welcomed home by the many loved ones who have preceded her in death. This includes her grandparents, John and Gail Radcliffe and Clifford and Inez (Tootie) Oppelt, father Mark Oppelt, brother Nicholas, cousin Amber, an aunt and multiple uncles.

A funeral service was held Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 3 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah. Chaplain Shane Haynes and Bruce Milleman officiated. Burial will be at a later date.

Relatives and friends were invited to call Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Online condolences may be sent to www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com. The service was streamed via the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home Facebook page.

Please watch over us, and fly high baby girl...until we meet again.
