ELIZABETH (BETTY) (BOOTS) EIBERGEN
Oct. 30, 1933-Sept. 17, 2025
Betty Louise Eibergen, 91, of Granton, WI, died peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at Riverside Assisted Living Neillsville, WI.
Betty lived all her life in Granton. She was born Oct. 30, 1933, to Michael and Anna (Bladl) Zahradka. She graduated from Granton High School and attended UWSP. Betty worked as a bank teller until she met her husband, Richard “Dick” Eibergen. They were married Aug. 4, 1954, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Neillsville. Together, they raised their children on the family farm. She enjoyed snowmobiling and traveling with her husband.
Betty served 30 years as secretary for Samson Memorial Library in Granton and played an integral role in the merger with Granton School Library. She was a charter member of the New York Homemakers Club and was active in the club until it was disbanded. Betty was also a lifetime member of the Granton FFA Alumni. In 2003, Betty and Dick were Honored Grandparents of the Year for Granton Fall Festival, nominated by their then 13 grandchildren. Previously, they had been honored as Granton Fall Festival’s Citizens of the Year.
Betty loved playing the piano, gardening, and cooking/baking. Visitors were treated to a seven-course meal made in less than an hour no matter what time of day they stopped in. We will keep on the traditions of brandy slush, grasshoppers, mint bars and also continue to bring out food even after we’re all full at family get-togethers.
Survivors include five sons, Jeffrey (Sarah) Eibergen, Park Falls, and their children, Eric (Shelly) Strey, Erin (Jessie) Strey, Tara (fiancé Terry Johnson) Strey, and Tonia (Craig) Anderson-Ruskin; Keith (Pamela) Eibergen, Granton, and their children Candy (Steve) Turnquist, Julie (Mark) Kayhart, Dana (Jim) Twernbold, and Cory (Michelle) Eibergen; Gary (Roxy) Eibergen, Granton and their children, Connie (Corey) Felton and Kevin Eibergen; Eric Eibergen (Mary Kultgen), Granton, Kent (Julia) Eibergen, Phillips, and their children, Andrea (fiancé Nate) Eibergen, Hannah (Phil) Conklin, and Jonathan Eibergen; and one daughter, Dawn (Charlie) Hines, Argonne; as well as 22 great-grandchildren.
