MARGARET H.  MICHALAK

 

     Margaret Happy Michalak was born Aug. 3, 1938, in Clark County Wisconsin, the daughter of Earl Ewing and Mabel (Finder) Kozlowski and stepfather Walter Kozlowski. As a child, she lived in the area of Neillsville, WI, and Alton, IL.

     On Feb 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Walter B. Michalak Jr. in Black River Falls, WI.

     Margaret raised seven children and retired from Figi’s of Neillsville. Margaret and Walter were snowbirds and traveled to Holiday, FL, for many years and became residents there, and about a year and a-half ago, she bought a home in New Port Richey, FL, staying permanently where she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025.

     Margaret loved spending time with her many grandchildren. She loved hunting, fishing, watching sports, crafting and always had a very large garden and canned her food.

     She is survived by four children, Debbie (Jim) Reichenbach of New Port Richey, FL, Tammy (Tim) Kren of Osseo, WI, and Brenda (Gary) Meihak and Mary (Bill) Riddle, both of Neillsville, WI; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in law, Kip Beck of Oconto Falls, WI.

     Preceding her in death are her husband, Walter B. Michalak Jr.; son David Michalak; two daughters, Margie Beck and Linda Michalak; a grandson, Dan Riddle; a great-grandson, Dylan Bloch; her parents; and her brother, Pete Ewing.

     There will be a graveside service held at a later date for family and friends at the Neillsville City Cemetery.
